Since August 2021, a decommissioned Transall from the German Armed Forces has been greeting guests from afar at Rotenburg airfield. You shouldn't miss this special highlight!
The Transall, which was developed as a military transport aircraft, earned the nickname "Angel of the Skies" through its participation in numerous humanitarian missions. Groups have the opportunity to tour the aircraft and learn first-hand about the technology and use of this milestone in aviation history. Practical questions are also answered in an entertaining way, for example about the abort or the squadron insignia, the Hummel. This makes the visit interesting not only for "freaks", but for the whole family.
The special thing about this "Transall" aircraft is that it has hardly been modified. This almost original condition allows guests to embark on a short imaginary journey through time. Take a seat in the former soldiers' seats and feel the heat or cold in the aircraft - depending on the season. Incidentally, guests have reported that the special smell in the plane made the experience perfect for them.

Itinerary
Dates: by arrangement
Duration: approx. 45 minutes
Meeting point at the Transall on the right by the fence. You can also park there (please do not step onto the tarmac in the direction of the Transall).
Accessibility:
The airfield is barrier-free. There are some steep steps leading into the Transall. If wheelchair users are present, prior notification is advisable, as the loading ramp can then be opened in advance. Due to the incline and the narrow ramp, which is intended for trucks, this is only possible with rather narrow and light wheelchairs and with assistance.
