The order of the “Franciscan Sisters of the Poor” is based in Aachen’s old city, and also runs the Haus Alverno in Mechernich and the Haus Damiano in the south of Aachen. The nunnery is a place for getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and with its peaceful, slower atmosphere, it offers space for reflection.
