The climatic and Kneipp health resort of Daun - a small town nestled in the rolling hills of the volcanic Eifel and in the immediate vicinity of the three most famous volcanic lakes in the Eifel, the Daun Maars. But Daun is not as quiet and idyllic as it seems at first glance: here it has been bubbling and seething under the earth's surface for thousands of years. The Dauner Dresse (mineral springs) bear witness to this to this day. But there's no need to worry: the volcanoes around Daun lie dormant and yet they create a unique landscape that invites you to switch off.
In the 1,280-year-old town with its many quiet and relaxing spots - such as the Dunaris healing spring, the spa gardens or the Hotzendrees - you can spend a wonderful wellness, hiking or cycling holiday. The Maare-Mosel cycle path starts here, the famous Eifelsteig trail and the Lieser path lead through the village and along the Lieser to Manderscheid.
