At Herzapfelhof Lühs, you can experience how fruit is grown and harvested in harmony with nature. Tradition and the highest organic standards come together here. If you want, you can taste, get hands-on and feel a real connection to nature.

The idea of the Herzapfel has made the traditional fruit farm famous. With great attention to detail and the use of stencils or modern laser technology, apples and other fruits such as oranges and nuts are decorated with individual messages and logos. The farm store is open daily and offers a wide range of products for browsing and shopping: from fresh organic fruit to pure apple juices, crispy fresh apple chips, sparkling apple secco, fruity jams and many other Altländer specialties.

But there is even more to discover at Herzapfelhof. Over 250 different apple varieties grow in the heart-shaped apple garden, lovingly arranged by Herzapfel. This huge diversity of varieties can be admired all year round, from bud to blossom to fruit. Varieties such as Finkenwerder Herbstprinz, Boskoop and Holsteiner Cox are on everyone's lips. But you will also come across some other funny variety names here.

During the harvest season from June to October, organic fruit can also be picked directly from the tree at the fruit farm. Apples, cherries, plums and damsons offer a sweet temptation - the apple variety in the Herz apple garden is also available for this purpose. As an apple tree sponsor, you can sponsor your own apple tree for a year, visit it and harvest it in the fall.

During expert guided tours on foot or by apple express through the orchard, master orchardist Hein Lühs and Rolf Lühs explain interesting facts about the traditional business and the idea of the heart-shaped apple. Topics such as technical progress and the historical development of fruit growing as well as the Alte Land as a unique cultural landscape are also covered. Refreshments are available in the information barn with coffee and Altländer butter cake and fruit cake or with a picnic in the Herz-Apfel garden.

Orchard walk: every Monday from April to October, 10:00 - 11:30

Discover the diversity of species and varieties at the Herzapfelhof in the organic orchard and around the orchards. During the 1.5 to 2-hour hike of 1.5 to 3 km, master orchardist Hein Lühs explains many special features of fruit growing in a quiet atmosphere away from the traffic routes.
