Marvel at the Procession of Princes in Dresden - one of the most famous and impressive murals in Europe!
The Dresden Procession of Princes is a huge porcelain mural on the outside wall of the Stallhof in Augustusstrasse. It depicts 34 Saxon rulers from the Wettin dynasty who reigned between 1127 and 1873. Together with Prince George, a total of 35 rulers are depicted.

The mural was created between 1904 and 1907 from 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles and replaced a weathered predecessor. The procession of princes survived the air raids of the Second World War and was restored in the 1970s. It depicts 59 other people, including scientists, artists and craftsmen, as well as 45 horses and 2 dogs. With the exception of Prince George and King Albert, each person is labelled with their name and reign.

The mural is 101.9 metres long and 10.51 metres high and consists of tiles measuring 20.5 cm x 20.5 cm. During the restoration, a 94th person was discovered who had previously been overlooked.
