Protestant Church Wingeshausen

Church
Hall Church of the 13th Century
Today's Wingeshäuser church was built as a late a late Romanesque hall church probably in the middle of the 13th Century.

The first documentary mention of the village dates back to 1332, due to a dispute with two noblemen from Oberhundem. The church shines in the late Romanesque architectural style with Gothic elements. The bell is from the 14th century.

In 1822 there was a major fire in the church tower on the west side.

A special feature of the church community in Wingeshausen is the high regard for music. In 2007, the church got a new organ; numerous organ sponsors made this musical investment in the future possible through their donations.
