The Old Church in Reken, also known as the Old Fortified Church, is an important historical building that is deeply rooted in the history of the village. This former Catholic parish church of St Simon and Judas, one of the oldest village churches in the region, now houses a sacred museum. The museum displays an impressive collection of liturgical implements, books, paraments and sculptures from various eras. These exhibits originate from the church and offer a fascinating insight into the religious and cultural history of the region. The Reken Heritage Society looks after the museum and ensures that the church's treasures remain accessible to the public. A visit to the Old Church and its museum offers a unique opportunity to experience the combination of art, culture and history in Reken.
The church can be visited as part of a guided tour. Registration with the Heimatverein Reken e.V.
