On September 9, 1906, the solemn blessing of St. Joseph's Chapel took place by Father von Beeck from Sandebeck. From 1910 onwards, the parish of Kempenfeldrom was looked after by the Franciscan fathers in Paderborn. In 1925, Father Beda Kleinschmidt (OFM) took over the service in Kempenfeldrom, and he continued to provide pastoral care until his death in 1932. On the patronal feast in 1938, a first communion was celebrated for the first time for the children from Kempen and Feldrom.
Over the years, St. Joseph's Chapel has been repeatedly supported by donations. In 2014, the church was closed due to the risk of collapse. Pastor Hans Günter Voß worked hard to ensure that the chapel was restored. Apart from the outer walls, everything was demolished: the roof truss, bell tower, interior plaster, ceiling and floor. The donations from the Protestant Reformed sister congregation also sent a clear signal of ecumenical solidarity.
