The artfully and colorfully decorated half-timbered house was built in 1557 and renovated in 1910. In 2005, the roof truss of the house was completely destroyed by fire after a neighboring house exploded. From 2006 to 2007, the historic building was rebuilt by the Keil family.
The TangoBrücke hosts concerts, theater performances, language evenings and literary events . As a rule, concerts from the genres classical, jazz, folk and of course Tango Argentino are offered. Admission is solidarity-based and therefore voluntary. The organizers explain that an average of €20 per visitor is required. The donations are collected in the legendary "blue glass hat" of the TangoBrücke.
Tango Argentino classes are also held regularly at the TangoBrücke. You can dance the tango in pleasant company on the first Friday evening of every month at the "Milonga del primär viernes". Beginners and advanced dancers can then spin their ochos here.
Meetings that take place weekly to once a month include the Café Língua and the Games Evening.
The concert and culture house is also a Kulturpension and has four guest rooms with a total of seven beds. The guest rooms are located on the first and second floors of the half-timbered house.
Since 2020, the TangoBrücke has also been home to FachwerkHooray! Here you can find artistic, decorative and useful items relating to Einbeck's half-timbered houses.
