Wesel-Büderich Protestant Church

Church

The classicist church building of the Protestant church in Wesel-Büderich on the left bank of the Rhine was consecrated in 1822.

The predecessor building of today's church was destroyed by Napoleonic troops in 1813. From 1817, plans were made for the construction of a new church, initially by O. van Gloeden, which were then completed in 1819 according to designs by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and consecrated in 1822. Today, the Protestant church on the market square next to the Catholic church of St. Peter is the focal point of the village of Büderich.
