This bike tour takes you along the Rhine at many exciting points of Cologne's architecture.
Of course, you start at Cologne Cathedral, the city's landmark - over the Hohenzollern Bridge you cycle upstream, past Deutz Harbour with its interesting swing bridge, always along the water further south to Porz, Wahn and Zündorf. There you will see a workers' settlement from the 20th century, a moated castle from the 15th century and a village with more than 1000 years of history. Take the ferry across the Rhine and head downstream, always on well-maintained cycle paths, past Rodenkirchen to the former fortifications of the city's ring of fortresses - "getting storm-free" takes on a special meaning here. The tour ends at the Rheinauhafen, the new architectural silhouette of the city. Where cranes once unloaded cargo and dockworkers toiled, modern flats and lively office space have now sprung up - look forward to it!
