Děčín: Circular hike Quaderberg and Elbwarte

The short circular hike starts centrally at a beautiful park and leads along a winding path (red line, E3; Kammweg/Hrebenovka) to the first highlight of the tour: the viewpoint on the Quaderberg. Here, the town of Děčín lies at your feet. The route then continues to the next viewpoint, the Schneebergblick. As the name suggests, the individually crafted wooden bench offers a great view of the High Schneeberg on the left bank of the Elbe in good weather. Not far away is the third vantage point - the Elbwarte. The view from the viewing pavilion lives up to the name "Elbcanyon". Restored at the end of 2017, the sandstone pavilion is a jewel dating back to 1890 and was built according to architectural principles based on a design by the builder Carl Hönig. The route then continues, now slightly downhill. Before heading uphill again, there is a covered rest area where you can exercise on outdoor sports equipment. The route continues past a memorial obelisk and a small cemetery with a chapel through dense woodland (green arrow). Here you come across another beautiful rest area with a pond (Přístřešek nad Loubím). Finally, you follow a narrow path above the Elbe until you reach the starting point again. The last few meters through the park are quite steep. A nature trail in Czech (green slash) leads along here.

Hiking boots are recommended. No special equipment necessary.
