The Knotenpunktroute Süd connects the towns of Wesseling and Brühl. In between, it becomes idyllically green in sections every now and then, before this tranquillity turns into the hustle and bustle of the inner cities.
A possible starting point for the leisurely circular tour is the Hotel am Rhein in Wesseling. From there, the route first heads away from the Rhine to the first junction (75). Through rural regions, the paths lead quietly and with little incline to Brühl.

Immediately past the world heritage site of Augustusburg Castle, the path leads to the lively pedestrian zone in Brühl, where a wide variety of cafés and restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat.

After Brühl's city centre has disappeared in the background, the signposted detour to another castle is worthwhile: Falkenlust Hunting Lodge is located somewhat off the route and the hustle and bustle of the city. The path stretches through Bornheim with its rural and green backdrop to the Rhine.

Large sections of the Wesseling Rhine Cycle Path are lined with trees, which provide shade on hot days. Small pieces of so-called "industrial charm" in the form of pipes and steals peek out from between the trees. Benches along the way invite you to take a short break with a view of the Rhine before the picturesque Rhine promenade leads back to the hotel on the Rhine.
