Weser villages and Weser floodplain - discover and enjoy nature on the Weser around the stork capital of NRW
Starting at the town hall in Petershagen, our third Weser loop follows the Weser cycle path in Petershagen.
Leaving the town to the north along the well-developed cycle path on the old railroad road. You make fast progress here, but it is still worth shifting down a gear and heading for some great destinations: The LWL industrial museum Glashütte Gernheim, the barn quarter in Schlüsselburg, the herring catcher museum Heimsen or Windheim No.2 with the stork museum along the route.
You can shorten the tour if you keep heading towards Hävern from KP 3 and follow KP 4 to take the Weser ferry "Petra Solara" to Windheim. The regular tour, on the other hand, continues north and crosses the Weser at the Schlüsselburg barrage. Alternative (in winter): Weser bridge on the L770 between Petershagen town and Petershagen Lahde; to do this, you skip KP 17 and 19 and instead cycle directly from KP 18 to KP 1. The highlights of this route are the Weser villages in Petershagen and the Weser floodplain with its beautiful nature.
