Between the dense settlement in southern Löhne there is a large gap of open land, mostly fields, some of which have been built over as commercial areas.

. In between are small wooded areas and elongated stream valleys - in combination a very typical cross-section of the landscape of the Ravensberg hill country. While hiking, you will come across flax cultivation, pollarded willows, "wiskemakers", old hedges and at the same time old and new industrial buildings, paths and roads. A closer look reveals relics of human land use from the earliest history right up to the present day.
