Directions

The route starts at the source of the Röder, somewhat hidden in the forest near Röderbrunn. The tour is well signposted, following the signs with the white "R" on a green background. Out of the forest, the route passes the "Margareten Eiche" and then turns right. You first reach Bretnig-Hauswalde via Luisenberg and then cycle off the main road and along Kirchstraße to Großröhrsdorf. The village is bypassed to the south on Weststraße and its extension on Alte Straße. At the end of the village, turn left to reach Kleinröhrsdorf via Hahnweg. On Großröhrsdorfer Straße, via Randhäuser and Heinrichsthal, you finally reach Radeberg.

The route crosses the S 177 and immediately afterwards turns left into "Am Hofegrund". This takes you over the Schlossberg to Klippenstein Castle, then right along Wasserweg past the municipal swimming pool, straight ahead along Röderstraße and Dr.-Wilhelm-Külz-Straße and across Dresdner Straße. Then follow the road "An den Leithen" and Talstraße along the Röder. In Lotzdorf, turn left onto Lotzdorfer Straße and then cycle straight ahead on Rödertalstraße through Liegau-Augustusbad. A steep climb leads out of the village again, then keep left towards Seifersdorf. Turn left again at the castle to reach the Seifersdorf valley. Before the Marienmühle mill, cycle directly uphill again to Schönborn and keep left at the next junction to reach Grünberg. Ride along Lausaer Straße and then follow Schlossstraße to the right to pass Hermsdorf Castle. Cross Dresdner Straße straight ahead and follow Medinger Straße.

Cycle through the villages of Medingen, Großdittmannsdorf and Boden to arrive in Radeburg. Drive through the town center via the traffic circle, Radeberger Straße, Würschnitzer Straße, Hofwall and cross Röderstraße. Then turn right onto Königsbrücker Straße and after a few meters turn left again onto Röderaue. Continue straight on until you reach Rödern. Keep right here to leave the village. Continue straight ahead to turn left at the signs for Freitelsdorf and follow the course of the river again. Cycle via the villages of Cunnersdorf, Bieberach and Kalkreuth, Paulsmühle and Reiherhof to Großenhain. The route leads along the Röder, past the natural adventure pool and the lake complex and via Parkstraße in the west of the town into the town park. Continue along Skassaer Straße to Skassa. In the town, follow Rödertalstraße and then Riesaer Landstraße to the right before turning right again into "Zur Neumühle". Now continue via Wildenhain and Bauda to the Gabelwehr and then to Zabeltitz. Cycle past the baroque garden and palace on the right and turn right into the forest on the main road about 200 meters after the Parkschänke.

Follow the Röderwildbett and follow the signs along the ponds to Koselitz. Keep right there and continue straight on past the church. Then turn left and cycle past the Toffelsteich pond. Follow the main road to Tiefenau and keep right in front of the castle church. Cycle around the Tiefenau brewery pond on the right, continue straight on through the pond area to Spansberg and follow the village road there. Continue straight on, ride out of the village towards Schweinfurth and cycle around the Schweinfurt ponds on the left after the field path. In Kröbeln, cross Teichstraße, then turn right onto Liebenwerdaer Straße and cross Mühlberger Straße on the left. Then keep right and continue along the country lanes, past the castle rampart, to arrive in Kosilenzien.
