Katharina Albers uses lithography - a flat printing process also known as lithography. The central theme of her art is the forest. Tall trees, intertwined roots and deep thickets create atmospherically charged natural spaces. Born in Vechta in 1985, Katharina Albers studied fine art at the Berlin University of the Arts. She now lives and works in Lohne.
Helmut Feldmann prefers the wide view over the lowlands, their fields and meadows. Born in 1964 in Deternerlehe, East Frisia, he studied graphic art and painting at the Academie Minerva in Groningen. An accomplished etcher, he now uses copperplate ink as a painting medium and also uses metal plates to create new effects. Helmut Feldmann lives and works in Oldenburg.
Ahlrich van Ohlen works in a more formally abstract manner, using material printing in addition to classic relief printing techniques such as linocuts and woodcuts. Beyond the individual sheet, his passion lies in the production of artist's books. Ahlrich van Ohlen, born in Deternerlehe in East Frisia in 1949, began his career as a teacher before devoting himself entirely to fine art. He lives and works in Ipwege.
On the upper floor, the young talents of the Kooperative Gesamtschule Rastede - as the "fourth generation" - are showing a series of etchings. Using the traditional intaglio printing technique, 15 pupils from the advanced art course have captured personal impressions of the landscape around them.
The exhibition is a cooperation between the municipality of Rastede and Residenzort Rastede GmbH.
It is accompanied by a comprehensive program for children, young people and adults.
