Following the successful exhibition "The Fragile Paradise", the next sensational project has already been announced at the Gasometer Oberhausen: from 15 March 2024, "Planet Ocean" will present the fascinating beauty of the world's oceans and their diverse life forms. The innovative show will take visitors into the little-known depths of this complex ecosystem, with the Gasometer presenting the oceans of our planet in various exhibition chapters using large-format photographs and films, some of which have never been seen before. Consequently, "Planet Ocean" also deals with the important areas of marine conservation and research.
The dramaturgical highlight of the new "Planet Ocean" show is the immersive production "The Wave", developed by the creative minds behind the "Ars Electronica" art and technology festival in Linz, Austria. Installed in the impressively high airspace of the Gasometer, oversized screens serve as a projection surface for the living sea world. Visitors can encounter huge schools of fish or even full-size sea giants without a diving suit or breathing mask. "Planet Ocean" will be on display at the Gasometer Oberhausen until 30 December 2024.
