The story tells of a black, three-legged dog that always ran through the city on Christmas night between midnight and one o'clock and mysteriously disappeared again. Once, however, a guard is said to have tried to stop the dog at the city gate, but failed completely. He is said to have paid for the venture a little later with his premature death. The place where the dog came in and out of the city, the so-called dog hole, is now built over and can no longer be found. However, the name of the nearby inn still reminds us of the strange event today. The entire legend can be read: The legend of the three-legged dog.
