The welcoming campsite on Luneburg Heath

Winsen (Aller) in North Germany is the gateway to the Südheide Nature Park. Our campsite is situated in the heart of nature, amongst woodland and meadows and near the unhurried heathland stream Örtze. The peaceful location and the new shower buildings with a children’s bathroom and rental family bathrooms offer you plenty of comfort.

The varied scenery is typical of Lower Saxony – fens, heathland, woods and heathland streams create their own very special charm. Young and old adventurers will find what they are looking for, thanks to the wide variety of activities possible on and around our campsite: cycle to the ducal city of Celle, try a carriage ride on the heath, go canoeing on the Örtze or Aller, or take a hiking tour through nature. Head off under your own steam for a day trip to the Bergen-Belsen Memorial, to the Karting Centre in Bispingen, to Soltau with its Heide-Park and the Soltau Therme thermal spa, or the federal capital Hanover. After your excursion you can stock up on energy again in our wellness oasis on the campsite with its sauna and relaxation room. In the summer you can enjoy a beach holiday at our natural swimming pond.

If you do not have your own camping equipment or would like to arrive spontaneously without too much luggage, we will gladly inform you about our rental accommodations. Camper van drivers prefer to stay overnight on our camper van pitches, which are positioned in front of the barrier, so they can be independent of the barrier opening times. A good selection of restaurants lies within easy walking or cycling distance from the campsite. There is a mini-market at reception for bread rolls, newspapers, ice cream and other small items. Everything else is available in the nearby supermarkets.

You can look forward to a refreshing stay at the Campingpark Südheide in Winsen (Aller).

Camping directly on the heath river Örtze

You will find a special feel-good place, for example, on the heath river Örtze, which flows directly past our campsite and flows into the Aller. The old trees give this natural site a very special atmosphere. Here you can relax on hammocks or in a beach chair. Our small sandy beach on the Örtze invites you to take a refreshing dip in the cold, clear water.

Another retreat is hidden away, accessible via a pretty wooden bridge: Here you can sit in tree swings under ancient trees and let your gaze wander over the expansive floodplains of the Aller. A wonderful spot for a sundowner...

If you prefer a more open and spacious setting, simply choose your favorite spot in the brand new area of our campsite. Spacious lawns and the proximity to our natural bathing pond and the new wellness area characterize this area.

Wellness area

Our wellness area built in 2017 provides special relaxation after a varied day in nature, with sauna and sanarium, some with a wonderful view of nature. Massages and cosmetic treatments are also offered here.

In summer, the natural bathing pond invites guests to swim and splash around. The clear water is purified without the use of chemicals. Several beautifully planted areas at the edge of the pond provide a habitat for dragonflies and amphibians. Here you can also relax on our loungers in a wonderfully natural setting.
A new kitchen in the lounge in a modern country house style invites you to cook and enjoy together - the matching recipe ideas for regional specialties are available in the cookbook on display! Of course, there is also plenty of seating under the roof and in the outdoor area.

Camping with children

Two great adventure playgrounds await families with small children. Our pirate ship, for example, promises exciting play adventures. Our brand new, separate jungle bathroom for kids with special showers, toilets and washbasins will make parents' and children's hearts beat faster.

At the Birkenhof, right next to the Südheide camping park, you and your children can get a taste of cowboy air! Climb into a comfortable western saddle and try out western riding on well-behaved horses and ponies

We are constantly developing our 5-star certified campsite and adapting our offers to the latest camping requirements so that you feel completely at home with us. Whenever possible, we work with partners and craftsmen from the region

Directions & Parking facilities

Coming from the A7, take the exit via the Allertal service area (L180) in the direction of Winsen. In Winsen, drive straight over the crossroads in the direction of Celle and turn right at the end of the town, following the signs. Alternatively, you can leave the A7 at the Schwarmstedt exit and drive via Wietze to Winsen, where you also follow the signs.
