History
It was first mentioned in a document in 798 and became the "Carolingian Cathedral" around 800. In 1530, the cathedral school was considered a grammar school. In 1906, the school became the property of the municipality of Minden.In 1939, the school was closed by the NSDAP against the will of the parents. 1948-1956 the cathedral was rebuilt. In 1968, it became an elementary school.
In 1976, it moved to Immanuelstraße.
Today, the cathedral school is a state-approved elementary school with four classes.
