Observatory
From 1816 to 1855, the Historic Observatory was the workplace and home of the famous Göttingen scholar Carl Friedrich Gauss.
The former Meridian Halls now house three impressive seminar and event rooms, which are primarily reserved for use by the Presidential Board and the Lichtenberg-Kolleg. However, the rooms can be booked for special academic events organized by the university.

The Green and Red Halls can each accommodate up to 70 people when seated in rows (see seating plan and detailed plan). The rooms can be equipped with audio transmission technology as well as a whiteboard, projector, screen and flipchart.

The observatory can be visited on request as part of a guided tour.
