Church
The original church building in Romanesque style dates back to the 13th century.
The church was badly damaged during the Thirty Years' War. After the end of the war, the citizens of Bühren collected enough money within a year to have the repairs carried out. However, as there was a lack of building materials, the holes in the church walls were not patched with bricks, but with fieldstones. This renovation method is still visible on the outer walls today.

The interior is kept simple. The Gothic baptismal font dates from the 15th century. The church organ, built in the first half of the 19th century, is a listed building. The church is 18.23 m long and 6.72 m wide.

When the church interior was painted in 2006, the remains of Romanesque and Gothic consecration crosses were found in the chancel. These oldest paintings in the church were painted on a white lime circle directly onto the brickwork. They have since been restored.

The association Kirche im Dorf e. V., Binnen, is a church-related cultural and support association that supports the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Binnen/Bühren through its work and enriches cultural life in the villages of Binnen and Bühren with its own events.
