Amselsee is a picturesque lake in the spa town of Rathen, in the middle of the impressive landscape of Saxon Switzerland. Surrounded by dense forest and high cliffs, the lake is a popular excursion destination for nature lovers, hikers and those seeking relaxation.
There are numerous hiking trails around the Amselsee that lead to breathtaking viewpoints and through idyllic valleys. A boat trip on the lake is also possible and offers a unique view of the surroundings.
For a boat trip with rowing boats or pedal boats you should plan around 30 minutes.

- Parking facilities on both sides of the Elbe:
- in Oberrathen (left side of the Elbe) at the large Elbe parking lot
- in Niederrathen (right side of the Elbe) 1 x at the "Haus des Gastes", Füllhölzelweg 1 and 1 x at the "Dorfladen", Am Grünbach 2
- Access to the Amselgrund via a short incline (approx. 12 %), then no incline
- Surface: asphalt and concrete pavement, directly at the lake: sanded sandstone pavement (see photos in the hiking tour)

- WC for the disabled:
- in Oberrathen (left side of the Elbe) at the large Elbe parking lot
