The oldest public library for the blind in Leipzig contains 6,200 items of music, which can be borrowed from all over the world.
The German Central Library for the Blind (DZB for short), which is now based at Gustav-Adolf-Straße 7, aims to expand educational opportunities for blind and visually impaired people.

Since it was founded in 1894, the library has provided literature and other information in a suitable form. The German Central Library for the Blind in Leipzig is the oldest public library for the blind in Germany. The braille library is as old as the Deutsche Zentralbücherei Deutsche Zentralbücherei für Blinde zu Leipzig itself and is the largest of its kind in Germany. The collection includes works of fiction, non-fiction and specialist literature, children's and youth literature as well as audio books. Here, 16,200 book and magazine titles in Braille, more than 6,200 sheet music titles and music theory works and  almost 30,000 audiobook titles can be borrowed.

Public transportation: The nearest stop is Leipzig, Leibnizstr. (lines 3, 4, 7, 15). The destination is about 250 m on foot from there.

By car: The Blindenmusikbibliothek is located in the north-western center of Leipzig and can be reached via the 87 (Ranstädter Steinweg) junction Jacobstraße.
