The Silbersee in Wehdel is located around 2 km south of the village of Wehdel in the middle of a nature reserve. Around 2 hectares of the 6.5-hectare lake with a depth of around 8 meters are open for swimming. The lake is regularly inspected by the public health department. As a result of these inspections, the Silbersee is certified as having excellent bathing water quality.
In addition to bathing in the Silbersee, there is also a playground, a football pitch, a beach volleyball court and a bathing island in the lake for bathers and visitors. The DLRG guards the bathing area during the summer vacations and at weekends.
