St. Sigismund's Church - one of the oldest in the church district of Verden - sits enthroned on the Geestrücken.

The church was named after the holy Burgundian king St. Sigismund. The oldest part of St. Sigismund's Church in Daverden, the choir, was probably built before 1222. The nave dates back to the late Middle Ages, while the extensions were built around 1899/1901. The altar, pulpit and organ date back to 1650.

The Daverden churchyard with its ancient gravestones was already a burial site in pagan times, as shown by an urn found in 1931 when a grave was dug.
