Church
The Cistercian monastery was founded in 1185 to honour the Archbishop of Canterbury. It is now used to house clergy and as an educational establishment. In 1742, after a fire destroyed the whole abbey with the exception of the church, the monastery was rebuilt in the baroque style in 1744. The monastery’s extensive garden area is also worth seeing.
