The first 5-mast water ski cableway between Harz and Heide was opened at Salzgittersee in 2005. Water skiing, wakeboarding, trick skiing, monoskiing and pair skiing can all be enjoyed here.

Water sports enthusiasts can be pulled through the lake at a top speed of up to 58 kilometers per hour. The circuit is 780 meters long. New since 2017 is a small beginners' circuit, which is also suitable for children. Since summer 2020, free WiFi has been available around the lake under the name "freeWIFISalzgitter".
