Lake Lippe has long been known for its numerous leisure activities in and around the water. This activity offer is quite new: beer garden hiking.

The Lippesee lake in Paderborn-Sande offers numerous leisure and sports activities. You can go swimming, sailing, surfing, stand-up paddling, pedal boating, walking, jogging, skating, beach volleyball and mini golf. Until now, the Lippesee has not been home to beer garden hiking. But that has changed with this tour!

Directions

From the "Sennelagerstraße" stop, we walk a few meters in the direction of the freeway, then turn right onto the road. We walk over the Thune, past a farm and then turn right towards the Lippesee leisure and residential park. After the campsite barrier, we reach our first stop, the "Thune-Aue" (distance: 0.7 km), where we can top up our fluid levels.

We follow the main path across the campsite, keeping slightly to the left to reach the Boker Canal, which we cross using the footbridge. We cross a real aqueduct here, as the Boker Canal flows over the Thunebach at this point. We leave the canal path in the direction of the playground and turn right. Then we cross the Thune bridge. Passing the street basketball court, we reach the large parking lot and shortly afterwards the bistro "Eisklang am Salitos Beach" (distance: 0.6 km). Here we can enjoy our drink with a view of the sandy beach.

On the northern shore of the lake, we walk past the yacht club, motorhome site, DLRG station and sailing club to the "Seemöwe" bistro, the third stop on our beer garden hike (distance: 0.7 km). This is a great place to relax with a view of the sailing boats. Before we set off, we realize that we are now facing the third longest stage and therefore a really tough stretch to the Meermeier restaurant (distance: 0.9 km).

To get there, we continue along the north bank. Shortly before the outlet structure, we turn right onto Ostenländer Straße. Here we can already see the "Meermeier" restaurant and head into the Meermeier garden. We top up our fluid levels as required - knowing full well that we now have to walk along the Lippesee to Gut Lippesee (distance: 1.0 km), exposed to the sweaty sun. We have really earned our break!

We should enjoy it, because it gets even tougher: now we have the longest stage ahead of us! We head to the wooded area behind Gut Lippesee. There we head onto a nature trail. After around 60 meters, we turn right onto a path through the forest that takes us to Münsterstraße (B 64).
Watch out! Carefully cross the often busy road and head into the gravel path opposite. We walk past the Nesthauser Seen lakes and thus past two water ski facilities, first taking a right turn and then two left turns. Finally, we reach Sander Straße and can already see Alt-Enginger Mühle, the sixth and final stop on our strenuous beer garden hike, on the left (distance: 1.3 km). We enjoy the stop, because now we only have the very last stretch to the bus stop "Sander Straße" ahead of us (distance: 0.4 km).

We can pat ourselves or each other on the back, as we have walked a total of 5.6 km in the beer garden. Now we just have to work out how many liters we needed per kilometer ...
