"Only" 10,000 years ago, many volcanic vents were bubbling in the Eifel, the earth was vibrating. Even today, these traces of the mighty past are visible, dry lakes can be walked through or volcanic craters can be circumnavigated.
The Nürburgring, Germany's best-known racetrack, is also a hot spot, with tires glowing, engines vibrating, and crowds of spectators seething.
A small impression of this "hot" past can be experienced on the taster tour of the Vulkan-Rad-Route Eifel.
On the way, discover the world of motor sports at the ring°werk and walk in the footsteps of knight Ulrich on the former volcano "Nürburg" in the Nürburg castle ruins. Afterwards, passing through meadows and fields, the route leads to the small town of Adenau, where the taster tour stops at the historic market square.
There, gastronomic establishments invite you to linger and refresh yourself before returning to the starting point at the Nürburgring.
