The route from Grimma to Wurzen runs along a disused railroad line, far away from roads, making this tour ideal for family outings.

The starting point of the tour is the train station in Grimma. Passing Grimma Castle, you cross the Pöppelmann Bridge to the other side of the river bank, where the cycle path continues.

The beautiful village of Trebsen lies halfway along the route. Here, many fruit trees along the way invite you to snack.

Another highlight of the tour is Trebsen Castle. Here you can admire one of the greatest architectural achievements of the late Middle Ages: the cell vault made of multiple broken honeycomb ceilings.

One of the oldest castles in the German-speaking world is located in the center of Wurzen.

Wurzen also offers other cultural highlights, such as the Ringelnatz Trail, the Krietschmühle mill and the old town hall.
