Historic parks, narrow gorges and a plateau with good views characterize this circular hike through the nature reserves of the Wild and Red Weißeritz.

The hike first leads along the Brüderweg trail over remarkably dry and warm slopes to Freital-Hainsberg and on through the damp and cool gorge to Somsdorf. The natural monument "Somsdorfer Eibe" is located here. You return to the starting point via the Temple of the Sun.

Directions

From the train station in Tharandt, walk towards the village. Before the first house on the right-hand side of the road is the entrance to Brüderweg, which leads gently uphill onto a hillside path towards Freital-Hainsberg. Once you reach the entrance to the village, follow the green line to Somsdorfer Straße, opposite the Freital-Hainsberg West stop is the entrance to Heilsberger Park. The ENSO-Energieerlebnispfad trail leads along the Mühlgraben to the entrance of the Rabenauer Grund at a weather mushroom. Alternatively, you can take Hainsberger Straße and the street "An der Spinnerei" to the Freital-Coßmannsdorf stop on the Weißeritztalbahn. Past the shopping and leisure center, you come to the Rote Weißeritz and over a bridge to the Wetterpilz. The yellow line leads through the Teufelsklamm gorge to Somsdorf and back to the starting point in Tharandt. Note: The path through the Somsdorf gorge requires surefootedness and is not suitable for baby carriages.
