...Art and wisent have one thing in common: they are simply impressive!
The WaldSkulpturenWeg Wittgenstein-Sauerland forms a 23 km long hiking trail between Schmallenberg and Bad Berleburg over the ridge of the Rothaargebirge and is lined with 11 sculptures by renowned, internationally known artists. New since 2012: the Wisent Wilderness between Wingeshausen and Jagdhaus, which you will explore on the second day.

Day 1:
Individual arrival in Schmallenberg. Take a look at the historic town centre.
Day 2: Schmallenberg - Bad Berleburg (approx. 23 km)
On your first stage, the WaldSkulpturenWeg awaits you with a mix of artistic diversity and pure enjoyment of nature.
Day 3: Bad Berleburg - Jagdhaus (approx. 18 km)
On your second stage, your route first leads you to Wingeshausen. Via the western access trail of the Rothaarsteig, following the Wisent marking, you reach the "Wisent Wilderness". Tip: Take the time to hike the 3 km long trail through the Wisent Wilderness! Cost: 5.50 euros per adult. The impressive stature of the animals will impress you! Your goal for today's stage is Jagdhaus.
Day 4: Jagdhaus - Schmallenberg (approx. 18 km)
From Jagdhaus, you will first walk today on the SR route (Schmallenberg circular trail), which leads you downhill to Lenne.
Passing the Harbecker and Werper crosses, you return to your starting point in Schmallenberg. A shorter hike is also possible. Individual departure.
