This circular route starts in Latrop and leads you past the Millionenbank on the way back. The Millionenbank – today a shelter at 632m above sea level – owes its name to the hyperinflation after the First World War. In 1923, a beech tree is said to have been felled here. Its value was millions – but they were not worth the paper they were printed on. So the felled beech was quickly made into a bench. This is a good place to take a break.
