The magnificent view from Stachelberg and the adventurous path along the rocks above the Sieg certainly belong to the highlights of this stage. Some steeply ascending paths will challenge you quite a bit, afterwards comfortable field and forest paths on the lonely heights of the Nutscheid guarantee relaxation and great “landscape cinema”.

Directions
From Hennef you cross the Sieg via the access path and reach the main path on a steep meadow path – then it starts off varied right away. On well-developed field paths there is a constant change of forests, scenic heights, stream valleys, and agriculturally used areas. On a narrow path, you leave the ridge and descend steeply through a gorge to the outskirts of Bröl and along the beautiful Brölbach to the Müschmühle. In the spring-rich mixed forest, various tree species, ferns, and grasses grow together in colorful alternation. As soon as you leave the forest, a panoramic view opens up over the Sieg valley and as far as the Siebengebirge. With this magnificent view, it goes gently downhill to just before Oberhalberg and further to Honscheid, where the small chapel catches the eye. Up to the Stachelberg, the view of the Sieg winding through its valley is dreamy! Finally, along a fantastic path beside rocks by the Sieg’s bank and through Auel with its pretty half-timbered houses to Stadt Blankenberg.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
A detour to the Marienpilgrimage Church Bödingen and a visit to the artisan shop next to the Steiner Mill in Hennef-Stein is worthwhile. Extra tip: If you walk from Hennef-Stein towards Hennef, you have the opportunity in Hennef for a well-deserved finish with a visit to a restaurant.
