Directions
Shortly after the start of the cycle tour, the idyllic Münsterland park landscape is already reached. Past the district of Wessum, the path leads north towards Heek. Far from the gates of the town, Haus Horst rises out of the flat landscape. A view over the moat sets the mood for the next sights.
Surrounded by wide meadows and the watercourse of the Dinkel, the Burgmannshöfe of Heek are the next stop on the cycle tour. The interplay of historic buildings is unique in Münsterland and a nice place for a break.
The cycle path now leads south through the "Dinkelniederung" nature reserve to the Düstermühle. Right next to the inn is the ancient water mill, whose documentary mention dates back to the year 115.
The Asbeck monastery in Legden looks back on a similarly long history. The Stations of the Cross and the dormitory, which is open at weekends, are definitely worth a visit.
Only a few kilometres further on, Legden awaits visitors with its dahlia garden. In the town centre, you have the opportunity to fortify yourself for the last part of the tour. Passing the historic Egelborg House, the cycle path leads back to Ahaus. The impressive baroque castle of Ahaus is the crowning glory of the tour.
