On this route, you hike through the Ginsberger Heide among other places, and the nearby Ginsburg offers a wonderful view in clear weather.

From Hilchenbach station, it is just a few steps to the market square. There, you first follow the yellow-marked Rothaarsteig access route Hilchenbach-North through Helberhausen until you reach the Ferndorf Spring and the main Rothaarsteig trail. On the main Rothaarsteig trail, marked by a white lying R on a red background, you start heading south and cross the Ginsberger Heide. This area is characterized by relatively natural ravine forests and raised bog-like wetlands. After the heath, you reach the Ginsburg. The tower of the old castle ruin offers excellent distant views to the Siebengebirge in clear weather. Passing the Giller, also known for its special viewpoint, you reach Hilchenbach-Lützel station, from where you can start your journey home.
