After starting at the Quellental hiking parking lot, the Quellweg trail leads you along the edge of the forest after crossing the busy L778 for quite a while below the FFH area "Östlicher Teutoburger Wald", the Schwedenpatt and the Palsterkamper Berg, until the ascent to the Teutos ridge path awaits you. The way back takes you across Kirchdornberg territory on the Försterpatt and a section of the Hermannsweg, past the "Wald-Hotel Peter auf'm Berge", before you finally begin the descent and walk along a flat section past the spring at the back of the former Hotel Quellental and return to the starting point.
Tip: The Steinhagen hiking pass and the "Quellweg" sticker are available free of charge from the Berg-Hotel Peter Auf'm Berge and the town hall.

Thanks to Steinhagen's connection to the A33, the starting point of the tour is also easily accessible by car if you are traveling from further afield.
Sufficient parking spaces are available at the Quellental hiking parking lot.

By bus, you can easily take line 48 and get off at the "Schomeier" stop.
By train, you can take the RB 75 "Haller Willem" to the "Steinhagen, Bielefelder Straße" stop. Then take a short walk along Bielefelder Straße to the B 68, cross the B 68 at the traffic lights and walk up the street "Quellental" to the hiking parking lot, which is also the start of the spring trail.

At the front of the former Quellental mountain hotel - about 4 to 5 meters to the left of the entrance door - the piped spring emerges directly from the wall of the house at one point. Where else can you see something like this?
