- Start: S-Bahn stop Blankenberg (Sieg), Am Burghart 10, 53773 Hennef (Sieg)
- Destination: Eitorf (Sieg) train station, Bahnhofstraße 32, 53783 Eitorf
On the cycle path towards Eitorf, after a short ride along the Sieg, you reach the town of Merten. Here, a detour to the park of Merten Castle is worthwhile. Not far from the castle, directly on the Sieg, is the family-friendly Happach campsite. To get to the campsite, leave the Sieg cycle path in Merten and cycle along the L333 towards Eitorf. There is also a continuous cycle path along the road. Here, too, canoeists can launch their boats at an officially marked location and even spend the night in a camping barrel after a short paddle tour.
You have to pedal hard between Merten and Lützgenauel to reach the town, as there is a small incline on the route. Once you arrive in Eitorf, there are several places to go swimming opposite the Kelters district at junction 15 around Brückenstrasse. In the middle of the town center and just a few meters from the Sieg cycle path, there is a beautiful children's playground in Siegpark. For really sporty kids, there is a great new skate bowl and a basketball court at Siegauenplatz in Eitorf.
The 2-kilometer-long adventure trail with "Kiki Eichhorn" for children of kindergarten and primary school age is located on Keltersberg, just a few meters from the center of Eitorf. Numerous stations such as animal long jump and barefoot path invite you to join in. A bee trail and a forest trail with many information stations round off the very varied offering in Eitorf.

Directions
The Sieg cycle path is signposted from the Blankenberg (Sieg) S-Bahn stop. Simply follow the Sieg cycle path sign in the direction of Eitorf. On the way from Blankenberg to Eitorf you will pass the towns of Oberauel, Auel, Merten, Lützgenauel and Bourauel. At junction 15 follow the signs towards Eitorf.
The cycle path winds along the Sieg loops and after the small village of Auel is immediately bordered by beautiful deciduous forest and the river. After Auel, the railway crossing has a special feature. To open the locked barrier, you press a request button and speak briefly to an employee in the signal box. You then use the same method to let them know that you have passed the crossing. The cycle path continues over two new bicycle bridges directly to the train station and then to Merten Castle, which is well worth seeing. After leaving the town, you first have to overcome a steep climb into the forest before going through the Lützgenauel settlement straight down to the banks of the Sieg. On the opposite side of the river is Eitorf, whose train station can be reached quickly via a bridge to Siegpark.
