Discover the Wasserquintett cycle route in the Bergisch region. Perfect for nature lovers on e-bikes and cycling enthusiasts who want to enjoy the diversity of the region on former railroad lines.
From Marienheide station, the route first takes you to the Brucher dam. Cycle along the water in the direction of Müllenbach. The route continues to Dannenberg, the highest point of the themed route at 460 meters above sea level. This is followed by a descent to Börlinghausen to the source of the Wipper and on to the Lingese dam. From there, the route follows the former railroad line. You reach Ohl via Gogarten. Here it is worth visiting the black powder sites and the black powder museum, where the history of the black gold is recounted.

The route continues along the former railroad line to Wipperfürth. The Hanseatic town is almost 800 years old and was founded in 1217. You then cycle along the railroad line past the Neyesiedlung settlement via Hartkopsbever to Hückeswagen, where you reach the Wupper dam. From the Kräwinklerbrücke bridge, cycle along the former railroad line towards Radevormwald.

Over the heights of the Bergisches Land, you return to your starting point in Marienheide via Schwenke, Anschlag and Kreuzberg to Rönsahl and Gogarten.

In the summer months between May and October, the "Bergische FahrradBus" runs between Leverkusen-Opladen and Marienheide on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. If you only want to cycle part of the Wasserquintett cycle route, you can continue or return in comfort on the cycle bus from Marienheide, Wipperfürth or Hückeswagen. Up to 20 bikes can be transported on the trailer and in the bus at the same time. You can find more information on this at www.bergischer-fahrradbus.de.
