Cycle marathon in the Mühlenkreis Minden-Lübbecke and

RTF/cycling tourism rides over short and long distances to the manor houses in the Mühlenkreis

In 2012, the cycling club "Radz Fatz" Espelkamp e.V. and the association Herrenhäuser & Parks im Mühlenkreis e.V. jointly developed a sporty cycle tourism offer, which has since been organized annually in summer under the motto "Herrenhäusertour".
The "Herrenhäusertour" has become a highlight of the cycling season in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL) and beyond.

On the RTF tours, (not only) racing cyclists can get to know the Mühlenkreis from its very interesting and historical side by bike.

The start is at Benkhausen Castle in Espelkamp.

The participating cyclists can choose between different distances of 25, 45, 75, 108 or 154 kilometers as well as a cycling marathon route over 220 km with around 1300 meters of altitude.

Trim bikers who want to take it a little easier can choose a 25 or 45 km route.
The highlight: all routes pass manor houses and also touch the Wiehengebirge up to the "Kaiser Wilhelm", which greets the Porta Westfalica. From there, in good weather, cyclists can see as far as the Steinhuder Meer, which is a stage finish for marathon participants.

"Refuel" in the manor houses
Some manor houses are also refreshment and control stations. Refreshments (bananas, muesli bars, raisin sandwiches) and soft drinks are available approximately every 25 kilometers. The marathon runners will also receive a warm meal, as the long-distance runners set off at 7:30 am. All other athletes start between 9 and 10 am.
Refreshment points are available at: Böckel Estate, Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, Petershagen Castle, Schlüsselburg Estate.

As an additional attraction, especially for trim cyclists and those accompanying racing cyclists, it is possible to visit some of the manor houses. Among others, the following can be visited: Stockhausen Manor, Obernfelde Manor, Benkhausen Castle, Hudenbeck Manor/Haus des Gastes, Hollwinkel Manor, Engershausen Manor and Ovelgönne Castle.

For further information and questions, e.g. about entry fees, registration, route guidance and details about the manor houses, please visit www.radz-fatz.de.

The "Herrenhäuser und Parks im Mühlenkreis" association has provided the routes here in the Teuto-Navigator for downloading as GPS tracks.
