NATURE AND GLASS IN FOCUS

The town of Rheinbach is known for glassmaking. In the glass museum, a colorful range of glass objects can be admired, which could only have been created through the deliberate use of fire. The Himmeroder Hof houses, besides the glass museum, one of the four Nature Park Centers of the Naturpark Rheinland. There are tourist information, an interactive permanent exhibition, and further environmental education offerings. From there, two interesting circular walks start: the "Rheinbach Rallye" leads through the medieval old town (quiz sheet available at the Nature Park Center) and the approx. 12 km long "Rheinbacher Forest Round" runs along the Waldkapelle monastery ruins and the pilgrimage ponds.
