Spazierweg Stadtspaziergang Detmold

We start our tour at the Tourist Information. The path leads through the nearby castle park, towards the Landestheater, along the picturesque castle moat to Bruchberg.

This is where the rampart begins, which flows into the Friedrichstaler Kanal parkland at the Lippischer Hof. Flanked by the Knochenbach stream and canal, we continue straight ahead to the Obere Mühle mill.

After crossing Paderborner Straße in the direction of the LWL open-air museum in Detmold, we reach Schumannstraße after a short section up through the forest. The small district above the forest is home to numerous streets named after famous composers and leads us directly down to the listed Palaisgarten via Papenbergweg. The landscaped garden with its fountains, ponds and cascades belonged to the Princely House until 1919 and is now dedicated to music with the adjoining concert hall and university.

Continue towards Hornscher Straße in the direction of the motorhome parking area. From there, we cross the Werre and walk along the forest on the opposite side until we reach the Aqualip leisure pool. Via Georg-Weerth Straße, we head back towards the city center and finish by exploring the small half-timbered streets of the historic old town.
