The bird trail takes you around 5.7 km around Elbrinxen. There are boards along the trail explaining 58 native bird species.

The route of the bird trail was chosen so that it touches forest, field, meadow and village. This means that all habitats of native birds are included.
Along the way, 58 bird species are presented on individual signs with pictures and text. The locations of the signs roughly correspond to the habitats of the bird species and the length of the bird trail is approx. 5.7 km. The trail also takes you partly along the river "Ilsenbach", which flows through Elbrinxen. The stork station at the start of the trail and the Elbrinx mill wheel at the end of the trail are also worth seeing.

Directions

From the parking lot above the stork station, you start on the bird trail. You now walk through the village, along the river "Ilsenbach" in a southerly direction. When you reach Rosensiek, turn right and follow the road to the edge of the forest. From here, the path leads you directly along the edge of the forest, from where you have an ideal view of the village. When you reach the river, turn left until you reach the main road. Now take a small detour to the right and straight ahead again, across the river to the next crossroads. Then continue to the left. Now follow the path, which again runs parallel to the river. In between, you will pass the Elbrinxen mill wheel. Once you have reached the path "Am Bach", follow it until you can cross the main road and take the path "Auf der Rothe" on the opposite side. You will now pass the stork station and head straight for the starting point, the parking lot.

Directions & Parking facilities

Drive from Lügde along the L946, which will take you directly to Elbrinxen. In the village, you can then turn right into the "Pappmühle" path until you finally reach the parking lot above the stork station.

Parking in the parking lot above the stork station is free of charge and possible at any time.
