Village fountain festival in Ottenhöfen in the Black Forest

A highlight of the festival year in the mill village of Ottenhöfen in the Black Forest is coming up on Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 July 2026: the popular village fountain festival is celebrating its 41st edition this year - under the motto "Tradition. Community. Love of the homeland."

Festival kicks off on Saturday

The festival kicks off on Saturday, 25 July, at 4 pm with a colourful programme as well as fun, games and action for children. New this year is the garden festival at the community centre, where various games of skill await the young visitors on both days.

At 17:30, Mayor Hans-Jürgen Decker officially opens the festival with the traditional tapping of the keg beer. The musical programme then begins with the Kurkapelle Ottenhöfen.

The varied evening programme offers a mixture of party classics, traditional brass band music and rock music.
At 8 pm, traditional costume wearers from the region perform together with the Ortenauer Tanzrunde in the Kurpark. The lovingly crafted traditional costumes reflect the tradition of the regional cultural heritage and are presented with great enthusiasm.

Culinary delights are also on offer: The participating associations spoil guests with tarte flambée, barbecue specialities, vegan street food, coffee and cake as well as a large selection of drinks and regional wines.

A special highlight is the evening illumination of the Kurpark: more than 5,000 colourful lights bathe the Kurpark and the Zieselberg in atmospheric festival lighting.

Festival Sunday with music, sport and family programme

The festival Sunday, 26 July, begins at 11:00 a.m. with a cosy Weißwurst breakfast and hearty brass band music from the Dorfmusik Furschenbach.

In the afternoon, the "Dorfbrunnen-Cup Ottenhöfen" is a football tournament for children and young people from Bananenflanke and FCO Ottenhöfen. The association Team Bananenflanke Ortenau e.V. provides a special football experience for children and young people with intellectual disabilities.

At 3:30 pm, the popular Punch and Judy show by the theatre team from Kultur- und Heimatverein Achertal e.V. will delight the young guests.

Sunday will be accompanied by various open-air concerts. These include a performance by the youth band "BORchester", consisting of young musicians from the Bottenau, Ringelbach and Tiergarten music societies as well as the Oberkirch town band.

In the evening, the Frohsinn choral society and the Önsbach and Ottenhöfen marching bands will bring the weekend to a festive close. The musical finale will be provided by the village square heroes with a great potpourri of brass music.

Village fountain festival run on 12 July

The traditional Ottenhöfen village fountain festival run will take place on 12 July 2026. The "Rund um Ottenhöfen" fun and adventure run is not timed and is aimed at runners, walkers and mountain bikers.

The private charity run benefits children and young people in the Ottenhöfen clubs and is organised with great commitment by Karin Spiegel.
