The church was built in 1883 and is centrally located on the market square, just a few meters from the banks of the Elbe. After the floods in 2002, it was extensively renovated and reopened as a cyclists' church in 2004. Since then, it has been open to anyone who wants to take a break along the way.
The interior is simple and classicist in design. An organ from 1924, altar and pulpit form the focal point. Cyclists can leave their luggage, fill up with water and enjoy the silence of the space.
The church is freely accessible during the day.
