St. Maria zu Tripkau

Church
The interior of St. Maria zu Tripkau  with its numerous cross motifs is well worth seeing.
There has been a church building in Tripkau since 1618, which was replaced by a simple, towerless half-timbered building in 1757. This building still serves as a nave today and was extended in 1864 to include a choir, a sacristy and a tower. Only the gallery has been preserved from the original 18th century furnishings. The current interior, consisting of the pulpit, baptismal font and altar, reflects the style of the 19th century, while the organ dates from the 18th century but was added later. After extensive renovation, the church was reconsecrated in 1998. Particularly striking in the interior are the numerous cross motifs, which are unique in this form in the Hanoverian regional church.
