St. Marien Kirche in Stapel

Church
St Mary's Church in Stapel was first mentioned in a document in 1291.
The church of St. Marien in Stapel was first mentioned in a document in 1291, which not only confirms the existence of the church itself, but also that of the village of Stapel. With a width of ten metres and a length of thirty-one metres, it offers space for around five hundred people, who can sit both in the nave and in the galleries. This is particularly interesting in view of the current congregation size of seven hundred members. A special feature of St Mary's is its external appearance, which looks more like a typical nave with a cap-like dome. But inside, the church surprises with an unusual arrangement: the altar and pulpit are located on the southern long side of the church. This unusual placement creates a unique seating arrangement and atmosphere in the church service that can only be found in stacks.
