Easy half-day bike ride of approx. 24 km length without significant climbs through the idyllic Blies meadows and the Kirkeler Bachtal. Wide meadow landscapes characterize the route, and at Homburg-Beeden, wild white storks, Konik horses, Heck cattle, and various bird species can be observed. The bike ride is suitable not only for active cyclists but also for families or older people with trained legs.

Characteristic for this half-day bike ride are the shady forests in the Kirkeler Bachtal, the view of Kirkeler Castle, the idyllic Blies meadows towards Homburg-Beeden with the adjacent Beeder biotope. On warm days, there is the possibility to refresh yourself after starting at the train station in Blieskastel-Lautzkirchen at a bubbling spring in the Kirkeler Bachtal. Along a small swamp area follows soon the resort Kirkel-Neuhäusel with the ruins of the Kirkeler Castle. For about a millennium, Kirkeler Castle has dominated the area as a landmark. It was formerly a proud symbol of noble power, property of the empire, and fortress, and today it is a popular and freely accessible destination for young and old. Shortly after the castle, the Naturfreundehaus Kirkel with beer garden and playground invites you to take a break. The route continues towards Kirkel-Limbach through a spacious beautiful meadow landscape, past the Sägew pond and the solar outdoor pool. It goes a short distance through the village until the bike path leads again on paved farm roads along the Blies through the idyllic Blies meadows to Homburg-Beeden. Once at the Beeder biotope, rare animals such as Konik horses, Heck cattle, and water buffaloes, which ensure nature-based grazing of the areas, can be admired from a viewing platform. Only a few hundred meters from the Beeder biotope, another break can be taken at the Beeder Fischerhütte. For years, a white stork pair accustomed to humans has been breeding on poles at the Fischerhütte and in this meadow landscape surrounded by forest edges, inviting observation. The return route to Lautzkirchen follows an almost completely car-free 9 km long paved section through the Blies meadows near Wörschweiler and Bierbach. The so-called "Bliestal-Recreational Path" was converted over 20 years ago from an old railway line into a paved bike and hiking trail and has enjoyed great popularity among locals and tourists ever since. The Adebar route is particularly suitable for arrival and departure by train due to good public transport connections via the two train stations in Blieskastel-Lautzkirchen or Kirkel-Limbach. The bike ride is continuously marked with the white stork logo and is characterized by its easy rideability alongside natural and cultural highlights.
